Our Beginner Pistol Course is designed to provide individuals with the foundational knowledge and hands-on skills needed to handle firearms safely and confidently. Whether you’re new to firearms or looking to refresh your skills, this course offers comprehensive instruction in a safe and supportive environment.

Day 1: Classroom Instruction (3.5 Hours)

On Day 1, you will spend 3.5 hours in the classroom where we cover essential topics, including:

• Introduction to Firearms: Understanding the different types of firearms and their components.

• Proper Grip & Stance: Learn the fundamentals of holding and controlling a firearm safely.

• Firearms Safety: Key safety rules to prevent accidents and ensure safe handling.

• Dry Fire Practice: Practice trigger control and basic techniques without live ammunition.

• Legal Considerations: Overview of firearm laws, including use, carry, and legal obligations.

• Aiming & Accuracy: Introduction to sight alignment and sight picture for effective aiming.

• Loading & Unloading Firearms: Safe techniques for loading, unloading, and checking your firearm.

• Home Defense & Safety: Insights into protecting your home with responsible firearm use.

• Storage & Transporting Firearms: Learn how to store firearms securely and transport them safely.

Our expert instructors provide a thorough, interactive classroom experience, ensuring you have a strong grasp of essential firearm safety practices.

What you will need:

To ensure a smooth and productive training experience, please bring the following items to class:

• Notebook & Writing Utensil: For taking notes during the classroom session.

• Firearm (Optional): If you have your own firearm, feel free to bring it. However, no firearm is necessary for the course, as we supply all necessary equipment.

Important Note: There will be NO AMMUNITION ALLOWED IN THE CLASSROOM for safety reasons. All firearms will be unloaded, and safety protocols will be followed at all times.

We provide all other materials needed for the course, ensuring you have everything required to learn safely and effectively.

Day 2: Range Day – Practical Application (1.5 to 2 Hours)

On Day 2, we will head to Insight Shooting Range located at 17020 Alburtis Ave, Artesia, CA 90701 for a hands-on, practical session where you’ll apply the skills learned on Day 1. This session will last between 1.5 to 2 hours and is focused on developing your confidence and proficiency with live firearms in a controlled, supervised environment.

During the range day, you will:

• Range Safety: Learn and practice essential safety protocols for handling firearms at the range.

• Proper Grip: Reinforce correct grip and stance to ensure safe and accurate shooting.

• Aiming & Accuracy: Improve your aiming technique with expert guidance.

• Loading & Unloading: Practice safely loading, unloading, and checking firearms under supervision.

• Target Practice: Engage in live fire target practice to apply your skills and refine your technique.

• Technique Development: Focus on improving your shooting fundamentals, including trigger control, sight alignment, and proper follow-through.

This range session will provide valuable hands-on experience to build your comfort and skill in a real-world environment. Our experienced instructors will be there every step of the way to guide you, ensure safety, and provide feedback to help you improve.

By the end of Day 2, you will leave with the practical experience and confidence to handle a firearm safely and effectively.

What You Will Need:

For the range session on Day 2, here's what you will need to bring:

• We Provide: A firearm and 50 rounds of ammunition for your use during the range session. You do not need to bring your own firearm or ammo unless you prefer to.

• If You Bring Your Own Firearm: Ensure it is unloaded when you arrive at the range. We will verify the condition of the firearm before use.

Important Reminder: NO AMMUNITION IN THE CLASSROOM for safety reasons. All firearms will be unloaded during classroom instruction, and ammunition will be handled only during the range session.

We’ll supply everything you need to safely and effectively participate in the live-fire exercises, so you can focus on building your skills and confidence at the range.

Scheduling Information:

Classes are available by appointment only, allowing us to tailor the training to your schedule.

• In-Classroom Sessions: Typically offered on weekdays during the following times:

  • 10:00 AM – 1:30 PM

  • 5:00 PM – 8:30 PM

• Range Sessions: Generally held on weekends at Insight Shooting Range (17020 Alburtis Ave, Artesia, CA 90701), with times flexible based on availability.
